ll primo incontro con la pietra leccese lo ho nel 2000 quando inizio a lavorare presso "petre", laboratorio artigianale di Renzo Buttazzo.
Qui, seguendo gli insegnamenti del mio maestro, imparo a conoscere le caratteristiche e i segreti di questo affascinante materiale creatosi milioni di anni fa e che caratterizza il territorio salentino.
La natura nelle sue ricche manifestazioni, alberi, rocce, fossili, con la sua forza e bellezza è fonte della mia ispirazione.
La pietra come mezzo di emulazione, come possibilità di creare una natura seconda.
Natura seconda che rispecchia il mio modo di sentire e vivere quella reale.
Estraendo la pietra dal suo contesto originale cerco di darle una nuova vita che è specchio della sua essenza.
Peculiarità del mio lavoro è quella di utilizzare unicamente mani, utensili, scalpelli ; e ciò fa sì che si crei una simbiosi con il materiale.
La pietra leccese come tramite tra il proprio pensiero e la rappresentazione di esso.

My first contact with the Lecce stone was in 2000 when I started working in Renzo Buttazzo's workshop"Petre".
Following my teacher I get to know the characteristics and the secrets of this charming material created millions of years ago and which characterizes Sakentio territory.
Nature in its rich manifestations, trees, rocks, fossils, whit its force and beauty, is the source of my inspiration.
The stone as means of emulation, as a possibility of creating a second nature which reflects my way of feeling and living the real one.
I try to take out the stone from its original context and give it a new life which is the mirror of its essence.
The peculiarity of my works is that I use only the hands, so that creates a symbisis which the material.
The Lecce stone as a intermediary bethween my thought and its representation.
